Website Compliance Check
Your website, checked against key UK rules.
We check your company details, cookies, privacy notice, complaints route and online-shop information, then email you a plain-English report. Every finding comes with evidence, the rule behind it and the text to fix it.
Fixed prices. Delivered by email. No calls.
Example finding (illustrative, not a real business)
Needs attention
Registered number not found. We could not find the registered number or the part of the UK the company is registered in on any of the 34 pages we checked on 2 October 2026.
Rule: Company, LLP and Business (Names and Trading Disclosures) Regulations 2015, reg 25
Why it matters
Small details your customers, and the rules, expect to see.
Company websites are asked to show certain information, and online shops have to tell customers how to cancel. These are quick to fix once you know what's missing.
Easy to overlook
Website templates can leave out your registered number, and it's one of the first things we check.
The rules have changed
The Data (Use and Access) Act 2025 changed the cookie rules from 5 February 2026 and added a complaints duty from 19 June 2026. We check privacy notices and cookie set-ups against the new rules, including those written before they took effect.
What we check
Six core checks, plus two good-practice checks.
The online shop check applies if you sell to customers online. Each one is checked on your live public pages and reported with what we found, where, and when.
Company details
Your registered company name, registered number, the part of the UK you're registered in and your registered office address, plus the contact details online businesses must give.
Rule: Company, LLP and Business (Names and Trading Disclosures) Regulations 2015, regs 24 and 25; Electronic Commerce (EC Directive) Regulations 2002, reg 6
Cookies and trackers before consent
We read each page's code and list the trackers it includes that run without a consent tool in front of them. Advertising tags are reported separately from analytics. Since 5 February 2026, some analytics can fall under a statistical-purposes exception, and we check whether it applies.
Rule: PECR reg 6 and Schedule A1; ICO guidance on storage and access technologies
Privacy notice
Who you are, why you use personal data and on what lawful basis, how long you keep it, people's rights, and the right to complain to the ICO.
Data protection complaints route
Since 19 June 2026, organisations need to give people a clear way to raise a data protection complaint, acknowledge it within 30 days, investigate it and report the outcome.
Rule: Data Protection Act 2018, s164A (inserted by the Data (Use and Access) Act 2025); GOV.UK summary of the changes
Online shop cancellation information
For shops selling to consumers: the 14-day right to cancel, how to cancel, who pays for returns, the model cancellation form and who the trader is.
Rule: Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013, Schedule 2 and reg 31
Email sign-up consent
Newsletter and checkout sign-up boxes: unticked by default, clear about what people are signing up to, and with an easy way to unsubscribe.
Rule: PECR reg 22; ICO guidance on electronic mail marketing
Good-practice checks
We also look at two areas where there's no single website rule for most businesses, and report them as good practice or for review.
Accessibility basics
A short check of common barriers: page language, text alternatives for images, form labels, keyboard use and visible focus, colour contrast and heading order. We only report what we confirm by hand, as good practice or for review, not as a breach of the law.
Guidance: WCAG 2.2 (W3C)
HTTPS and security headers
Whether your site uses HTTPS with a valid certificate, and which common security headers it sends, such as HSTS and a content security policy. These are good practice, not specific legal requirements.
Guidance: NCSC: TLS for external-facing services; NCSC Small Business Guide
Sector modules
Extra checks for sectors with their own website rules. Add one to a full report or Fix Pack.
Solicitors
+£149
Price and service information for the listed areas of work, the complaints procedure including the Legal Ombudsman, the SRA number and the SRA's digital badge.

Smart and connectable products
+£195
A published point of contact for reporting security issues, the timescales for acknowledging reports and updating reporters, and the minimum period for security updates.

FAQ
Straight answers.
Is this legal advice?
No. Our reports are information: what we found on your website on a stated date, set against named rules, with suggested wording. They are not legal advice. If your situation is complex or you are unsure how a rule applies to you, please take advice from a solicitor.
Are you connected with the ICO, Companies House or any regulator?
No. Macuno Digital is an independent private business. We are not connected with, endorsed by or acting for the Information Commissioner's Office, Companies House, the SRA, trading standards or any other regulator. We do hold our own ICO registration (ZC267233) for the personal data we handle, as many UK businesses do; that is not an endorsement.
Will the Fix Pack make my website compliant?
We can't promise any particular outcome. The Fix Pack gives you wording and step-by-step changes for each item in your report, and we re-check your site once you've applied them. Whether your website meets the law also depends on how your business actually works, which only you can confirm.
Who is this service for?
Businesses only, such as limited companies, LLPs, partnerships and sole traders buying for their business. It is not offered to consumers. See our terms of service.
Do you need my website login or a call?
No. We only look at the public pages of your website, and everything happens by email. We don't ask for, or accept, passwords. You or your developer make the changes.
How long does it take?
We aim to send a free check within 5 working days of your request, a full report within 5 working days of payment, and a Fix Pack within 10 working days of receiving your completed questionnaire. These are targets, not guarantees, and we'll tell you if we expect a delay.
How do I pay? Do your prices include VAT?
You order by email, and we send a secure Stripe payment link. You pay before work starts. Monitoring is charged monthly in advance. Macuno Ltd is not VAT registered, so no VAT is added: the prices shown are the full amount you pay. If you buy the Fix Pack within 30 days of your full report, the £79 report fee comes off the Fix Pack price.
How common are missing company details?
In our test of 10 UK limited-company websites, 7 of 9 we could scan didn't show their registered number. That was a small sample we picked for testing, not a survey of UK websites, so treat it as an illustration rather than a statistic.
Will you flag Google Analytics as a problem?
Not automatically. Since 5 February 2026, PECR includes an exception for some analytics used for statistical purposes, provided people get clear information and a simple, free way to object (see the ICO's guidance on PECR exceptions). We report advertising and cross-site tags that load before a choice as findings, and mark analytics as "needs review" with the conditions explained.
How accurate are the checks?
We read each page's code and visible text, and check each flagged item by hand before it goes in a report. Automated scans can still miss content loaded by JavaScript, text inside images or PDFs, or pages deep in a site. If we've missed something, reply and tell us; we'll correct the report.
Why did you email my company?
If we contacted your company, we found the email address on your own website. Your company name and number came from Companies House. We only send this kind of email to limited companies and LLPs. Reply "unsubscribe" or "no thanks", or email hello@macunodigital.com, and we'll add you to our do-not-contact list straight away. Our privacy notice explains what we keep and for how long.
Can I get a refund?
If you cancel before we start work, we refund you in full. Once a report or Fix Pack has been delivered we don't refund it, but if it doesn't contain what we describe here, tell us within 30 days and we'll put it right or refund you. Monitoring can be cancelled at any time and stops at the end of the month you've paid for. Full details are in our terms.
Find out what your website shows.
